GreenGo Energy is an innovative renewable energy company with global teams in the United States, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Mexico, Poland, and Morocco. Since 2011, GreenGo Energy has worked towards accelerating the renewable energy transition through an innovative and scalable business model based on development of solar energy with and without battery storage.
As green energy pioneers, we continuously work toward furthering renewables and displacing higher-cost energy facilities that use finite fuels, such as coal, natural gas, etc., through development of reliable and sustainable energy solutions from an infinite fuel: the sun. The end-result is low-carbon, environmentally friendly power at the least cost to customers and ultimately ratepayers – that means you and your neighbors. Our success over the last decade has only strengthened our belief that we make a lasting difference when joining forces with our landowners and our communities to foster a new legacy in sustainable energy growth.
The Benefits of Solar Energy
Solar farm income from leasing is one of the highest forms of stable income options available for farmers and ranchers. Solar pays more than growing corn, wheat, ranching and maybe even cannabis – although we would not really know about that one for sure! One of our landowner’s once said, “So, you’re offering me more mailbox money than what I get from ranching without all of this hard work that my heirs don’t really want to inherit? That’s a no-brainer! I can keep the land and provide a legacy for my kids and grandkids.”
We agree – we even made it easier for our landowners by paying all the property taxes for them as well during the operations period. Furthermore, unlike agriculture, during a drought, solar performs better given there is more sun than predicted. And if there is a flood – the solar panels will perform better after the rain stops as they have been effectively “washed”.
Solar farms make great neighbors. They are safe, quiet, non-glaring, do not create dust, do not use measurable quantities of water, are nearly invisible (given they are less than 10ft tall) and produce a lot of discretionary property tax benefits to the communities in which constructed. Seriously – a lot of taxes will go to your community! Also, modern solar energy solutions offer opportunities for improved biodiversity with certain types of agricultural operations that can be preserved.

We believe in close collaboration
with our landowners
At GreenGo Energy we have deep experience with developing large solar energy projects in the US and abroad. We know that for a project to be successful, a close and respectful collaboration with landowners, the local community, the municipality and potential neighbors are all vital. That is why we make sure to involve all parties in a transparent way before applying for a new solar farm to be established.
In reality, solar farms cannot be built everywhere. There are industry barriers that limit growth as the transmission system can only allow so much electricity to be injected, plus solar farms typically need sufficient amount of contiguous flat land to offer competitive power prices. Either way – transmission issues or economic issues due to competition – you will not see solar built all around you.
Sufficient land for farming will remain well after the initial opportunities are built out. In fact, North Carolina university researchers did a study and surmised that even if the state switched to 100% solar (an unlikely, extreme scenario), that would only impact 8.3% of the current farmland within NC.
